So you’ve stumbled across my blog…my little corner of the world as I like to say. Maybe you’ve read a few of my blog posts, or maybe one of your friend’s has been featured in my “Through New Eyes” project. Either way, no matter your purpose or reasoning, no matter who you are and what road of life you’re on, I’m glad you came. You belong here, and the words written in this blog are meant for you.
Now, I’m sure your first question is who am I? At first glance, I can understand that it may seem like I’m a lost soul trying to find my way in the world. And ok, while that may be partially true, I’m just a simple girl on an amazing journey. It’s a journey that I’ve never before experienced, because for the first time in my life, I can say that I have absolutely no game plan. Terrifiying? YES. Exhilerating? ABSOLUTELY.
But really, who am I? My name is Andrea and I was born and raised in the CLE (Cleveland, Ohio). I went to school at THE Ohio State University where I studied Strategic Communication and German with a minor in Professional Writing. Now, I am working at a marketing agency in the Cleveland area, but my true, raw, totally in-love-with passions are writing and traveling. Through those two things, I have only somewhat recently defined what living a meaningful and full life means, through my own eyes. I have finally taken the reins of my life and decided that there is no better time than NOW to do those things that I've always wanted to do.
I started this blog because I not only wanted to share my experiences and talk about all the reasons why I love traveling and meeting new people, but I also wanted to let people know that it’s ok not to fall into the routine of life that seems to be predetermined for us. It’s ok to take a chance and try something new…it’s ok to do something that everyone else deems crazy or spontaneous, and it’s ok to never settle for a life less than what you deserve. Make every moment matter.
That said, here is a list of things that I just love doing when I’m not preoccupied with brainstorming for my next blog post.
• Running! I have been running 5k’s and 10k’s recently but I’m aiming to run my first half marathon in the coming months. I’m a bit terrified of that looming 13.1 number, but what’s better than facing your fear head on?
• Trying new foods and restaurants. I’m always up for ordering that dish that I can hardly pronounce or eating something the locals deem “delicious” but your mind is screaming “NO WAY” . Those meals always seem to pleasantly surprise you…most of the time.
• Reading. I haven’t had much time to do much reading now that every day seems to be absolutely packed with things to do, but it’s always my go-to on a rainy day. Big blankets and a good book on a bad day is the absolute greatest combination.
• Spending time with old friends and taking the time out to make new ones.
